Rent the Ice Aid Equine Cold Compression Machine

Support Your Horse’s Recovery & Rehabilitation

When your horse needs support getting back to competition, cold compression therapy is trusted by thousands of human physiotherapists and professional sports teams worldwide for injury recovery and post-operative care. With the ICE AID rental scheme, that same proven technology is now available for equine rehabilitation.

Ideal for short-term treatment of tendon injuries, hocks, and knees, ICE AID combines targeted cold and compression therapy to help reduce pain and swelling more effectively than traditional methods such as ice boots, cold hosing, or bandaging. We always recommend checking with your vet or physiotherapist to ensure it complements your horse’s existing treatment protocol.

To begin your rental, please use the following instructions: Please note that the ICE AID is only available for rental with a single wrap included, (tendon or hock/knee) if you need two wraps and the dual hose for cooling tendons please go to the purchase page. If you have already started a rental with us and you wish to extend, please contact VETLIG UK.

I recommended the Ice Aid to a client for use on her eventers. It has proved very effective and easy to use and has helped in post exercise limb cooling and injury treatment. A ready supply of ice is essential.

FAQ

THE MACHINE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE COLD ENOUGH?

Ideally, you should use the machine at 0-14° to get the best benefit, and remember cold water is over 19° C, so do not worry about the temperature too much, the compression which pushes the cold into the tissues more than makes up for a few lost degrees. Use the water-to-ice ratio of 4:1 approx. If the temperature does rise with use, just add more ice.

DO I NEED TO DRAIN THE CUFFS EVERY TIME?

Yes. Especially in the summer, as the water will be warm and then flow back into the machine, which will raise the temperature of the water. It is a very important step; it also allows for a better fit on the leg.

DO YOU SHIP ABROAD?

Yes, as long as you are happy to pay the extra shipping fees, we can ship. There may also be tax charged by your government, but there should be no duty as it is a veterinary product with a harmonisation code.

IS IT JUST A UK ELECTRICAL PLUG ON THE MACHINE?

Yes, it is, but the portable battery pack is a USB and can be used with any voltage or adapter.

DO I HAVE TO PAY VAT?

Yes, VETLIG is a VAT-registered company, so we have to charge VAT on all our products unless you are outside the UK.

IS THERE A WARRANTY?

Yes, for a year for manufacturing faults, not if a horse kicks it.

IF I NEED A SPARE PART LIKE A HOSE, DO YOU SELL THEM?

Yes, we do in case of breakages.

IS THERE A CONTACT IF I NEED HELP?

Yes, email orders@vetlig.com if you need help.

ARE YOU A UK COMPANY?

Yes, we are a UK company and pay UK taxes. We have been operating since 2008, working and selling with veterinary surgeons.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE?

Put it on your own leg and see, it is a cross between a massage and a blood pressure cuff and very cold. It squeezes on and off every few seconds while pumping constant cold water around the wrap.

CAN I USE THE HOSE THROUGH A NECK STRAP FOR SAFETY?

es, but then you must raise the machine onto a tack box/box otherwise, the pump is pushing water uphill.
